Ko Te Awa Ahau: Matariki Tree Planting for the Omaru river


Today a group of Year 7 and 8 students joined schools across Glen Innes to plant trees to celebrate Matariki and help protect the Omaru creek.


 We were welcomed on to Paddington Reserve by Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Puau Te Moananui a Kiwa and Madave. Auckland Council experts taught us how to plant trees correctly.


Along with the other schools we planted 500 trees in under two hours!
