A highlight from Wednesday's presentation at the Omaru River.
This performer came from Tonga with two others. She and another woman sang from the trees while a man sang at the bottom of the tree playing a beautiful sounding drum and guitar. We look forward to visiting and sharing our Weta Hotels again tomorrow!
What is this about weta hotels? Am I allowed to grimace?

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Josh, I'll be posting a slide show and video soon with a photo of the male singer so you can hear their amazing waiata.
DeleteHi, it's Room 4 at Wesley Primary here. We loved the creative image you used. Who took the photo? We are deciding at the moment which trees we are allowed to climb at school - but we've never had people play guitar and drums under them! Next time we'd love to see a video of the performance - or some more pictures. Blog ya later! Room 4.
ReplyDeleteKia ora koutou Room 4,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. One of our Year 6 students took this photo. I found it on my phone after we had visited 'The River Talks' and thought it was a great image too!
Keep an eye on the Maker Space blog, we have a video coming soon and it includes the song and the very high tree in which the performers had climbed!
Ngā mihi nui,
